The Downside of Being a Type-A Workaholic

That’s me…the red faced one, in the middle.

That’s me…the red faced one, in the middle.

Yes, while being a type-A workaholic keeps my mind occupied a LOT, sometimes there is a down side.

For example…when you work seven days a week and Monday rolls around, and you have to get up at 6:30 to be at your day job at 8:00, and you sleep through the alarm, thinking it’s Sunday, and one eye pops open and you see that cute blond girl from GMA, Monday – Friday, on what you THINK is a Sunday? Not too cool…I actually did that last week. I looked at the clock, and it was 8:00, which is when I’m supposed to be at the day job.

Or when it’s the week before Thanksgiving, and you really have lost track of the calendar, and you’re talking to your mom who’s supposed to have surgery the week of Thanksgiving, and totally forget about it, because now it’s Tuesday and you think it’s Monday, and figure you’ve got plenty of time to call your mother, who isn’t supposed to have surgery for another day or two, and then get Tweeted by your sister in the middle off the office Thanksgiving luncheon that Mom’s just hanging out in pre-op, and think WTF?????

Well, yes, that would be me. Anyone else feel like the offspring from hell?

I think I’m on a streak.

Next, please…

Julie, this kind of thing happens to me too. The best thing to do is write everything down or record it in your Blackberry or what ever you have and keep it on all day with alarms to go off 30 minutes before something is going to happen. The other alternative is to try to age gracefully!! LOL! (Just kidding you. You have a lot more god years for being a workaholic!!) Take care of my friend!!
