Yes, it’s true…I love Halloween more than Christmas. Yes, presents and gifts are great, but c’mon…let’s be honest; so is candy!
In fact, I actually have a bowl of “Eyes of Newt” sitting on my desk at the office, which came to be after the office joke du jour was about my being a witch. (Long story, maybe another time…)
But I came to work the day after the issue came up and was given a canister of milk chocolate crunch foil wrapped eyeballs in assorted hues, labeled “Eye of Newt” with the Macbeth “Double, double, toil and trouble:” verse on the lid. Brenda never misses a beat, that is for sure! So for the last couple of weeks, I offer any and all agitated parties at my desk an eyeball… “Here, have an Eye of Newt…You’ll feel better.” And then I kind of cackle.
Now that the kids are grown (well the one remaining under our roof), there is no Trick or Treating, so I realize that I am going to have to purchase my own bag of Halloween goodies if I plan on getting my yearly recommended dose of Smarties. I am addicted to Smarties, tho not in the same way Brenda is addicted to Double Bubble. (Which makes me think I need to re-write that whole Macbeth-thing to read, “Double-Bubble toil and trouble: jaws will ache and filling’s rubble…” Just sayin’…)
Ok, back on subject (I hate when I do that-am kind of thinking ADD meds might not hurt me a bit)…

I got a set of his and hers werewolves, and let her borrow the witch’s hat. Mrs. Penguin usually sports it. 🙂
Since there will be no trick or treating at the house, we’ve decided to build a bonfire in the back yard, have some Mead, and enjoy the evening as a family tonight. And maybe even make a run to the Super WalMart to pick up some half-priced goodies for the adults in the house…which would be all of us, since Baby Boy turned into an adult last month.
So we are going to make the last Halloween together as a family a fun one, and hopefully we don’t set fire to the old privacy fence in the process, LOL…
Until next time!
P.S…I saw the following on Twitter today, several times, and thought it too good to pass up: Let us not forget the reason for the season: Pagans.
Pagans are tasty eatin’…
WHAT?????? Oh, Skwarl, you’re just awful! LOL!!!
