I am going through a phase, I think…
One that wants to merge the writer in me with the photographer in me.
Once upon a time, I was a small business owner (who failed, thank you, economy) that built a studio from the ground up. Literally. I’d started taking portraits in my dining room after moving all the furniture into the living room and shot with my ass plastered to the oven door.
We did fairly well, but then? Then the economy tanked, and I bailed on the blog that held the best of the best of our pictures, including the build of the studio that is now my personal weight room.
On that blog, I was quiet, modest, and publicly acceptable. In here? More unfiltered.
But since I closed the doors to the business last year, because it cost more to keep it open than I was making…I also abandoned the blog that went with it. Probably not my brightest move, but one I thought that I’d revisit, when I found the time to play with it.
Now it’s 2014 and I find that I actually have time to explore it further…So for any of you that are curious as to how I got to where I am (or am not, if you are a glass-half-empty kind of person) here is the blog that started it all.
Thank you for indulging me, as I’m going to be posting the last two years of photography over there. 🙂
Until Next Time…
I know the feeling. I used to do road racing photography and pretty much just broke even after expenses, but I loved it. Then we moved to Colorado so there weren’t any tracks nearby and I started doing landscapes and animals…..I still do it, but it’s more for me and to share with others on my website, instead of trying to make any money. 🙂
Talk about delinquent…I meant to come back and reply, LOL…but it’s been a wee bit nuts here, lately. But, yes…I only do it for the joy of it. It’s more like writing to me now; a creative outlet that makes me feel better. 🙂
I know what you mean! I’ve been playing catch up for 2 weeks! I’m getting there slowly but surely!
I need to carry my camera everywhere I go though because it seems like every time I go somewhere these days there is something I should be taking a picture of. lol and right now it’s fields loaded with bluebonnets!
I absolutely get that! Everything (including the dogwoods) is in bloom here, and I would be remiss to not bring the real gear with me when I go out!
It seems like I never have it when I see something worthy! lol I’m just going to have to start making it a habit to take it everywhere! lol
I really need to get better with the one in my phone. It was point and shoot with the iPhone, but I’ve got a Galaxy now, and the darn thing is more complicated than my DSLR! LOL!
You and me both! I have the S4 and most of the pics I take with it end up blurry. lol And I agree it’s way more complicated! LOL
This will have to be another day for me to check out this other side of you! I am sure you were a fantastic artistic photographer! I just know it! I have to walk home, get cleaned up and eat my dinner. I blog after working all day at a warehouse, at the library! Smiles, Robn
You sound like me! I WANT to be caught up on my reading and commenting list, but *whew*!
What up Muff!! yay you—I have my own Chicken…ESMERELDA
