Spring Has Finally Sprung!

I love spring. I love almost everything about it. The only down side would be seasonal allergies, lol, but aside from that? What’s not to love?! Trees are turning green, pool water is turning blue, plants and shrubs are staring to bloom, and FINALLY a the weather is getting warm. Swimsuits and shorts are showing up on racks in stores all over the place.

Mah Peeps!

It is the season of my Peeps. I love Peeps. Of course, I also love Robin’s Eggs, which have the malted milk in the middle. Om, nom, nom!

The best, most wonderfully therapeutic thing for me, however, is that first ride home from work with the top down. It’s even better if it falls on a Monday after 8 hours of drama, lol.

I love my car!

Today was that day. I have one of these sweet little rides, shown at left. I bought her brand new with all of three miles on the odometer. Her name is Meg, which is short for Megumi. I will have had her for eight years this Memorial Day weekend. I traded my gas guzzling Suburban in when the boys decided that spending their summers in Nevada with their dad was way more cool than doing the local beach-thing with us.

The thermometer in my dash read 77 degrees when I started her in the parking lot at work this afternoon. The sun was out and I figured what the hell; I had an elastic hair band on my shifter, so I dubbed today the day. There is nothing better to me than the sun and wind in my face, radio playing my favorite songs all the way home!

Ordinarily I don’t blog from my tablet, but This afternoon I had to make the exception. Once I got home I was so relaxed that I went straight to the closet, ditched the work garb and put on shorts, a tee, and OMG, flip-flops. I am now sitting on the deck, listening to the birds talk to each other, and enjoying a bit of a breeze. There is a yellow finch on the bird feeder, and a red finch on a branch nearby. The pool pump is running after its first of the season algaecide and chlorine, taking it from a dark green fiberglass pond to what can almost pass for an actual swimming pool, haha.

Holy balls, y’all! I am so relaxed! Spring really is the season of rebirth, even for older people such as myself, lol…But as chill as I am right now, I do feel a slight twinge of guilt, thinking of my blogging buddy and brother from another mother, Rob, who writes The V-Pub, and also lives up north where they’ve had entirely too damned much snow this year, some more of which fell over the weekend. Sorry, Rob. ❤

What is your favorite thing about spring? I can’t wait to read about your favorite spring-things!

Until Next Time…

The new life erupting all around and the bringing out of the lighter clothes for the warmer weather. (I get tired of wearing the same things over and over all winter! lol)

  2. The V-Pub says:

Jules, please send some of that weather north!

  3. I hate spring and I detest summer. I go to the beach and go out ONLY after dark. The thought of spending all day in the sun, at the beach, is horrific. I am waiting for fall…
