Re-Post: Flattered. I Think.

Originally I had planned to do a post on my review of Monat’s IR (Intense Repair) products, which is the system I attribute to the regrowth of my hair.

While checking ping-backs, I found a request in French, so I ran the snippet through a translator and found it was a translation of last night’s Black Box post. Curious, I hit the link attached and went to the site. This is what I found:

My post all in the langue française! 😁 It is pretty much verbatim,  Even down to the link to my Black Box shopping cart!

What do y’all make of that?

To my knowledge, in all the years I’ve been blogging, I don’t recall ever seeing a re-post of one of my blogs in English, let alone another language.

That said, I did notice at the top, “By Equalibre Plus” and didn’t comb the entire thing for any credit to me, the original author, so I posted a comment (that is waiting for approval) thanking them for the repost and included a link to this site.

Here is the link for anyone wanting to check it out.

Okay. Back to our regularly scheduled content…

Versatile Blogger? Me?

My girl Janey over at Cupid or Cats has nominated Random Musings, aka Musings From a Workaholic, for the Versatile Blogger Award. (Thank you, Sweetheart! I am tickled! ♥)

So what happens next is that I post seven (7) facts about myself, and then I nominate thirteen (13) other bloggers. You thirteen are under no obligation to participate, but that you were nominated means that I think you and your blogs are pretty terrific, and that yes, someone IS reading and following. /waves frantically from way back here/

Okay…in no particular order, just the facts, ma’am:

  1. Up until about a month ago there were two things I refused to eat; eggplant & walnuts. I’ve decided that I like eggplant, but that whole walnut thing will never change. I’ve tried. It’s just not meant to be. So this can be summarized as, “the only food I refuse to eat is walnuts.”
  2. I was born on the west coast, currently live on the east coast, have lived in two other states (intoxication does NOT count, thanks) in between. I have also traveled all of Interstate 40 at one time or another, from one coast (Barstow, CA) to the other (Wilmington, NC).
  3. I can play the violin, viola, cello, and guitar. I took violin lessons starting at the age of 7, played all through school, and can still, to this day, play large chunks of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, (Allegro) by heart.
  4. I love to bake. I don’t get to do it often, but I really enjoy it, and miss the days when I was a stay at home mom and could put out some lovely pies, breads and a pretty outstanding pound cake.
  5. If I am ever reincarnated, I would like to come back as one of my dogs.
  6. I hope to retire in Belize.
  7. When I grow up I want to be a certified personal trainer and published author.

*Whew!* Glad that part is over.

Now for the fun part – thirteen bloggers and their links…And Janey, you are in here, too! These are in no particular order, either. As you can see, my taste in blogs is as varied as my taste in food. (Does anyone else see a lot of food parallels in here today, or is it just me?)

  1. Liz Logic
  2. Cupid or Cats
  3. Banded Carolina Girl
  4. Weight2Lose2013
  5. I Prefer Deep Blues and Sea Foam Greens
  6. witlessdatingafterfifty
  7. Stamped With a Heart
  8. Well, That Happened
  9. Hacker. Ninja. Hooker. Spy.
  11. AuraOnPCOS
  12. Cat’s Liminal Space
  13. Seyi Sanda David

So there you have it… 😀

Until next time…

Blog Love <3

What's not to love? ;)

What’s not to love? 😉

A new friend of mine is a teacher as well as a terrific blogger. She gave her students an assignment to say something positive about the person next to them. She posted the following on her blog:

It got me thinking of the warm feeling we get when we receive compliments (or have food poisoning, but whatever). And then I thought of WordPress awards and how good they make us all feel. But instead of giving an award (which are WONDERFUL, but they are time consuming), I thought that it would be a good idea to do the following:

Mention two bloggers whose blogs you love to read and say something positive about each. This way, you are hopefully bringing a smile to someone’s face.”

She discussed her bloggers of choice and went on to say this:

“In the comments section below, I would be DELIGHTED if you could mention two bloggers you just adore and say something positive about them. Not only will it cheer them up, it will also hopefully introduce us all to new bloggers. What is there to lose?”

So, I am asking you, dear readers, to please do the same in the comments box below. Should you be inspired enough to re-post similar on your blog, I’ll bet the original author (Janey 😉 ) would be flattered.

My first blogger is none other than Janey at Cupid or Cats.  And no, I’m not giving her a shout out because she gave me one. Nope… Every now and again you stumble upon a blog that is fun to read, and then you start to get to know the author beyond just the “nice post/thank you” exchanges. Apparently, she and I have quite a lot in common (including our curiosity about the drinking habits of others, ha ha ha), a very similar sense of humor, and the ability to try to make the best out of what would take other people out at the knees. It is rare that I find a blog and start ALLLLL the way from the beginning and read and read until I am caught up. Janey’s blog is THAT blog, people!

The second one is also a new blog find/friend. I stumbled upon him after he liked one of my posts and I ended up reading much of his blog, as well. We both have weight loss/fitness and healthy eating bits on both of our blogs, but he has a killer recipe section, as well as gardening tips. He is one easy-to-read/easy-to-talk-to dude…so without further ado, I give you Rob, from Weight2Lose2013.

So I have introduced you to two of my favorite blogs/bloggers, and hope that you will do the same for me. Honestly, I have “met” so many neat people while exploring the blogosphere, and am hoping that this blog will allow you to do the same!

Until next time…
