Cancer Sucks, Y’all…But Good Friends? That Takes the Sting Out…

So, Claire, Sherrill, Jennifer, and Jazelle?  This one is for  you, Babes…I love you all and have NO way to repay any of you, except to tell you how very much I love all four of you.

This week has been a bitch. I’m not trying to soften the blow or mince words.

I appreciate my friends more than they will ever know. Life’s too damned short, y’all.

Once again, tonite? I am typing with a heavy heart, but better than last night? There is a little joy in there, too.

As an emotional softie, my girl, Claire Lopez, seems to know who I am underneath it all, and sent me the following link. I watched it at work and cried like a baby the first time. Watched it a second time, and actually felt a little stronger. Came home and watched it a third and fourth time, and think that I might actually get through tomorrow.

Thank you, Claire…You know…just for getting me and shit. I will come to Texas from over here in NC to find you and hug my thanks to you sooner than you think. 🙂

Sherrill, who has loaned me her strength (and, OMG, I hope this works) tells me:

“I will loan you my strength.

”Kick ass,

“Take names,

”Live out loud,

”Live life by the balls…and give it a SQUEEZE”

God bless anyone that will loan me strength like that.
Thank you Jen & Jazelle…not only for being beautiful on the outside, but being beautiful on the inside, and agreeing to let me capture you both as who you are…Art goes on and on…and I am going to take it and run with it with your help. 🙂
I will be at the Wayne County Relay for Life tomorrow evening with friends and family to honor those we have lost, and those that still go on.  Wayne County Fairgrounds…Be there or be square, if  you can.  🙂 Tim and I will be walking laps for my surviving friends (y’all know who you are). and for my friend and her family.
Friday wrap up will be on Saturday.
Till next time…

The Friday the 13th Weekly Wrap-Up

Can you believe it’s Friday the 13th, already?

Well, Oh, Mah, Gawd!!!! Can I just say that? Holy crap, Batman!

What a week, but OMG, am I feeling better or what? 🙂

So, the day job has been a tad dramatic this week.

As much as I would love to go into details? I can’t.  At least right now. Let’s just say people are not who they say they are…

And if you are reading this, Sgt?  I suspect (as should you) that this may very well be about  you and the ready-to-mail envelope that created a boat load of drama in my office in my absence.

I hope all this drama was worth it to you?  Whose side are you on, anyway? Corporate America…Can’t live with it…Can’t blow it up with ridiculous explosives, unless, of course, you LOOK FORWARD to that prison term, which I do not. I don’t think they will let me have a damned camera in there… but whatever…

one of those crazy montages I can put together. 🙂

Because, you know…I was hanging out at a fundraiser for the Relay for Life…aka the American Cancer Society. It’s (next to busting up domestic violence) my pet cause. Both of my parents are survivors; Mom kicked breast cancer’s ass not once, but TWICE, and my dad kicked the *ahem* colon of Colon cancer. (Go Mom, Go Dad!!!! Whoohooo!!!!!) One of my dearest friends has also kicked Cancer’s ass, and I am so happy that he did. 🙂

Ok, onto bigger and better things…After I signed up for my online gym at, and they freaking shut down before 5 days of my 14 day trial took effect…I was like, “Awww, hell….Back to the drawing board…”  You give me a simple solution and then immediately take it away? I’m all over Google like stink on a dog turd to find similar results.  Do you people have any idea what kind of monster you have created???? Does anyone know about FitnessGlo? (  It looks like something I might be able to get into. If anyone (and I’m asking for reader input and exchange, here, people…) knows of a good online video workout program, can y’all please clue me the hell in, already????

So, I quit one of my jobs this week. My Mary Kay gig is up, and the jig is over. If anyone wants to purchase anything left over in my inventory, AT COST, email me at and put MK Blowout in your subject line and I will happily let you know what’s left. I just couldn’t take it. I am not normally a quitter, but if y’all know anything about me? I’m a family girl and a photographer first and foremost, so I could not turn down a gig with a local media outlet, and I knew that was going to create havoc, and honestly? I was starting to worry about me stroking out.

That’d be Melodie from Creative Lens Art by Melodie on the right and me, the ringleader from Wall 2 Wall Photography. 🙂

Ok. Next topic…The WMH Relay for Life Team Silent Arts and Crafts Auction. I had a minimum goal of $100 set for this bad boy, but we ended up bringing in over $300, which doesn’t hold a candle to what we did in 07/08, but then the economy wasn’t sucking THIS hard back then, either.

We (Melodie & I) had a really good time today helping raise money for the ACS.

I want to thank Skwarl (you know…”There’s a Squirrel in my Blog”), Bonita Jenkins, Malinda Quinn, Lisa Mitchell, Carolyn Fiedler, Patricia Martin, and Melodie (aka Elaine Estes), Eric Schreffler, ShagDaddy’s DJ Service, and Dang…I know I’m forgetting someone and I totally apologize…I know our Volunteer, Barbara, did an amazing framed acrylic painting, as well. I think I’ve got all of us acknowledged. 🙂

We, at Wall 2 Wall, are heading out to hit up the Malpass Brothers tomorrow morning/afternoon at the Pig in the Park Festival.

Until Next Time….

Update on my Relay for Life Auction…

(Edited to make SENSE!  Never EVER blog tired with wine.)

Hi!I am emailing you because I just registered online for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. When I registered online, I was issued my own personal fundraising web page. It explains what Relay For Life is and why I chose to get involved. My web page also has my fundraising goal and how much money I’ve raised so far.
Please visit my page, and while you’re there….why not make a donation to the American Cancer Society?Your donation will help the American Cancer Society create a world with less cancer and more birthdays – the amount you donate will count towards my fundraising goal.Thank you so much for your help – I will keep you updated on my progress!
